You must have come across the Bible verse that said, “Examine yourselves”; it can be found in 2 Corinthians 13:5, but have you at any given time examined yourself? An individual that
constantly examines herself knows her weaknesses and watches over them. Before we go on, do you know that it was the weakness of Esau that caused him to sell his birthright? Do you also know that it was the weakness of Moses that cost him the land of Canaan? This is why you must not ignore your weaknesses; but must examine them, listen to what they are saying, and learn from them.
One major way of learning from your weaknesses is to appreciate them. This is because your weakness tries to bring your attention to things you need to fix or correct in your life. Therefore, endeavor to appreciate them. (That does not mean that you should condone them). Another way to learn from your weaknesses is to take action as soon as they are pointed out to you. Don’t say ‘it doesn’t matter’ because even the smallest drop of petrol in a cup of water will change the taste and render it undrinkable.
Your weakness might be your worst enemy, but it can also be your best friend. It all depends on how you treat it. What are those weaknesses that you have noticed in your life? Make a list of them and classify them under advantageous weaknesses and disadvantageous weaknesses. This is because your weaknesses can be to your advantage or to your disadvantage. For those on the disadvantageous side, see them as your worst enemies and bring up plans on how to eliminate them. For those on the advantageous side, find ways to them to your strengths and you will see some definite changes.
Finally, God can also help you to overcome your weaknesses. All you have to do is to seek him with a sincere heart, put your faith and trust in him, commit your paths to him and he will grant you your heart desires. God knows about your weaknesses and he will not leave you alone to face them.
