HOW TO HARNESS YOUR INNER STRENGTH

Updated: Mar 22, 2021

A popular quote says, “If you believe it, you can achieve it.” This quote speaks to the

power of your inner strength, which pushes you beyond even physical limitations. We

all have this inner strength, but it needs to be harnessed effectively. Life is chaotic, and

if you are not mentally strong, you will become easily overwhelmed. Here are some

full proof steps to harness your inner strength for a victorious and fulfilling life:

Know Who and Whose You Are.

You cannot harness or project strength if you have no idea who you are. You belong to

God, and you have a God-given purpose. “But you are a chosen people, a royal

priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession (1 Peter 2:9). This should be the

motivation that drives you. You are royalty, and God has assigned you a purpose to

show forth his marvellous light. You are important, and you have a role to fulfil.

Connect with your Source of Power

You harness your inner strength when you consistently tap into the source of your power. The Lord is the strength of your life, and when you spend time with him in prayer, meditation, and worship, you can channel this strength.

“Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually.” 1 Chronicles 16:11. Make time for a daily connection with God and allow Him to strengthen your resolve for each day.

Create the Right Circle of Friends.

Good friends are like fuel to fire when it comes to helping you to harness your inner

strength. On the other hand, bad friends are like water on a fire; they say your energy

and drain your strength and resolve. As such it is essential to choose your friends

wisely. “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who

sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24.

Do Not Allow Fear to Paralyse You.

Fear is the greatest enemy of your inner strength. Fear limits your potential and will

have you paralysed and of no use to yourself or others. It is as if humans are

instinctively fearful but, “ God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of

love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) You have the power and the strength to

overcome your fears and chase your dreams with courage and vigour. You are an

overcomer because God is with you.

Demonstrate Self-Care and Self-Control.

Be disciplined as you take care of your physical, mental, and emotional health. Your

inner strength will flourish when your body and mind are functioning at their optimum.

Your body is the temple of the Lord, so be careful of the things you consume.

Demonstrate self-control as you eat, exercise, sleep well, maintain peaceful

relationships and take care of yourself. “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be

weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day

come upon you suddenly like a trap.” (Luke 21:34). Avoid negativity and feed your spirit

on hope and peace.

Harnessing your inner strength will take commitment and consistency, but an

abundant life will be yours if you make an effort. So take the time to tap into your

inner strength for a better version of you.
